Loft Art Gallery presents Untitled, a new exhibition by Moroccan artist Amina Rezki, opening at the gallery’s Marrakech space on 31 October 2025 and curated by Yasmine Berrada.
In this new body of work, Rezki turns her figures away from the viewer. Seen from behind, they refuse the familiar exchange of gaze and instead become archives of memory, gesture, and inward life. What is withheld - face, direct address - opens a space for projection: the viewer supplies story, feeling, and conjecture.
Patterns lend formal clarity to her compositions: tiled floors that extend like game boards, the spotted dialogue of a leopard coat beside a dalmatian, the rhythm of painted stripes. Within this order, atmospheres emerge that feel both ordinary and uncanny.Each scene holds the charge of narrative yet never resolves into a fixed story.
Rezki’s art lies in this tension between structure and imagination, discipline and dream. By turning her figures away, she draws us closer to the silent drama of posture and setting. What we cannot see becomes the most eloquent, reminding us that painting can tell stories not through faces or words, but through the subtle play of pattern, space, and gesture.
