Itinéraires: Mohamed Melehi

19 May - 21 June 2010

All light is a vector of sensuality. For Melehi, this is a constant, a fertile obsession that boasts colour like a mask to respond to other masks, those that weigh down upon society and turn away from the unshakable clarity of life.

Melehi raises his sails, removes the scales from his eyes and his senses. It is the achievement of over three decades of patient, rigorous, even stubborn work, representing signs of life - wave or flame – that have led him to a cosmic vision in which woman is suggested by the benevolent light of the stars. The sea has long been present in this space of freedom, the sea and its waves separated, then together again in an order that transcends reality.
