Zoom sur une mémoire tatouée : Mohamed Hamidi

5 April - 5 May 2018

While many works by the artist are currently on display in the context of the Dubai Art Fair at the MiSK Institute, Loft Art Gallery returns to the prolific work of Mohamed Hamidi, with a retrospective exhibition from the beginning of the 1960s to now.

In 50 years of creation and throughout a career of exceptional variety and value, Hamidi is today one of the great figures of Moroccan painting. The artist has explored the figurative and abstract, nudes to still lives, themes from Africa and from Europe, with a constant drive: line, symbols, colour. Hamidi is one of the founders of modern art in Morocco; a review of the traces of a pioneer.
