Born in Casablanca in 1991, Radia Lamrani Karim is a multidisciplinary artist and trained architect who lives and works in Morocco. A graduate of the Académie Charpentier and the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, she developed her interest in contemporary art during a period spent in New York. From an early age, drawing and colour have provided her with means of expression and emancipation from the social conventions of her environment.
Her practice explores a spiritual journey towards heightened consciousness through form, colour and material. Nature, love and meditation occupy a central place in her work, which she translates into abstract and immersive compositions where serenity, energy and vibration converge. Working primarily with oil and acrylic, she approaches colour as a vehicle for emotion, seeking to create pictorial spaces imbued with optimism and hope.
Her practice now extends beyond painting to encompass sculpture and installation, further developing her exploration of material, space and sensory experience.
