MOHAMED MELEHI I MUSEE D’ART MODERNE

Paris
Mohamed Melehi’s works are on display at the ‘Présences Arabes: Art Moderne et Decolonisation: Paris (1908-1988)’ group exhibition in the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris. The Présences Arabes exhibition showcases a selection of over 200 works, most of which have never been exhibited in France before. It highlights the relationship between Arab artists and the city of Paris during the twentieth century. Structured chronologically, the exhibition begins in 1908, the year of the arrival of the Lebanese poet and artist Khalil Gibran in Paris and the opening of the School of Fine Arts in Cairo. The journey ends in 1988, with the first exhibition dedicated to contemporary Arab artists at the Institut du Monde Arabe. An 80-year journey that promises to reveal the liveliness of an artistic panorama yet to be discovered.
